Baby's 1st Birthday

Look who's turning ONE.....

1st time with Santa

It was baby's first time seeing Santa. "Get me out of here mommy!" It was so sad and cute at the same time. It was my family's Christmas Party and Santa always seems to show up with gifts for all the kids. We had so much fun! The boys love to play with their cousins and its nice to catch up with my cousins. This is our extended family on my Dad's side. My Dad wasn't able to make it this year. He had his second cancer treatment this week and was so sick on Saturday. I felt so bad. But we made the best of it enjoyed being together. Sorry baby....I hope you will grow to love Santa someday!

The "little" Polar Express

Our friends do this miniature Polar Express every year. This is the third year we have been invited. My kids love it so much! This is now a tradition in our family each year. We get to go and watch the movie "Polar Express" on a big screen in their barn and then we get on their mini train and ride to the North Pole. There we get off and go see Santa in his workshop. After we load back on the train and ride back listening about the real meaning of Christmas. It is amazing! It truly gets us into the Christmas spirit.

"Singing" at the Mall

So big brother is in the choir at school. They got to perform at the Mall today! It was so much fun to go and watch him. He did such a good job. He has an amazing voice......go figure. My mom got to come and watch and she said it reminded her of when she would come to watch us when we were little....ha ha. Daddy was in town and was there too! Yeah!

Twilight Movie

Yeah! Loved it! My sis and I got to go to the Premier of Twilight last night. It was so much fun. Thanks to our good friend Mel who reserved two theaters and sold out both, we were able to see it at 7pm. After an extension security check we finally got in our seats....so much drama just for a movie? But it was worth it. We met a bunch of my good friends from the neighborhood and almost knew just about everyone in the theater. It was wild and crazy! Just think of hundreds of moms and teenagers "screaming" when they first showed Edward on the screen.....i was one of them! It was great. I am ready to go see it again if anyone is up for it....ha ha really though. Just for the record...this is the first post I have done so soon after the event...Wow!

Halloween Photo Shoot

Another amazing photo shoot. This is my kids Halloween costumes for this year. Don't they look great! I did a mini shoot with Lauriann and the pixs turned out perfect. This was baby's nine month pixs....."don't mess with me or you will have to deal with my brothers!" Oh and the little cheer outfit was borrowed from a friend that had her mother make it for her baby like 8 years ago. Funny huh! It fit her perfect! I mean I have to start baby now....it is inevitable that she will be a cheerleader. Go Vikings!

Welcome Home Daddy!

Daddy has been gone a lot lately.....like 23 days straight! Ok he came home for 24 hours in that time, but that doesn't count. It has been really hard on our little family. REALLY hard! We had him home for 5 days now...WOW! We spent time just playing with the kids and I got ONE date in. There is so much to do and so little time. Oh well....we made the best of it. He leaves again tomorrow and we will miss him terribly! The kids love to have him play football with them when he comes in town. I had so much fun just watching and taking pics. They just love their Daddy! He is such a great daddy and the boyz just adore him. Even baby got some quality daddy time.....say ahhhhhhh! Good Luck on your next trip...you will be missed. Love us

Night up the Canyon

So Emily and I decided to take the kids up the Canyon. It was so much fun and perfect timing to see the leaves change. We roasted hot dogs and made smores. The kids had a blast! It was good for the mommy's to get away too.

3rd Place Football Throw

Wow...that is so cool! Big brother was in a Football competition today and took 3rd in the throwing contest. All the kids in his age division had to see how far they could throw the football.....and he was the third farthest out of the whole group. Great job buddy! I wasn't there to see it, but he came home with his trophy.....so excited to show me. Wanted to call daddy right away. So if your out there..."Daddy, look at my trophy, isn't it so awesome!!"

PG Vikings Football

We love going to the PG High Football games. My boyz just love running around playing football on the hill and going to the snack shop. I love showing off little missy in her cheerleading outfit! She is in training you know. I have all the high school girls stopping me and saying how cute my baby is. Well I know that! My cute mother-in-law comes and helps me out with the kids and she loves watching the game too. So we make it to the half time show, which is my favorite part, to watch Jacky dance and Bronte cheer! They are so good and I love watching them perform. But we are also there to support our Harding Boyz...they are great football players. My boyz want to be #3 and #32 now. Ha Ha

Kindermusik Class

Little baby and I decided to start a music class while big brothers are in school. She is 8 months TODAY! This is a music movement class that I have taken with all of my kids at this age. I am so excited to do it with my little girl. This session is called "Dream Pillow" and the music is beautiful.

Soccer Saturdayz

So this is where we usually are every Saturday. At a Soccer field somewhere. The boyz are doing so well at soccer. They truly are talented little athletes! Little brother just ended his season and received his award today. He gets so excited about these games and you can see his enthusiasm while he plays. Very animated....so cute! Good job little buddy you had such a great year! Now big brother is just beginning his "Competition" Soccer and is amazing at this game. He is in a whole new league playing comp...but he loves it and does very well. He plays as a defender and most games the other team won't score because he doesn't let anything by him! Keep up the good work....your doing great. Love you boyz

Wow...A New Bike!

So little brother WON a new bike at school! It was so exciting! We were just talking about getting him a new bike this year since he is always getting big brothers thrashed hand me downs and then he won his very own. This is his first brand new bike! It was his school's bike safety week and all the kids had to go through the safety rules at home and then their names were turned in for a bike drawing. I think about 100 bikes were given away....and he was one of them. The PTA had an amazing stunt bike team come and perform and gave the bikes out after the show. It was amazing and so much fun! It came at a great time.....he needed a little pick me up after a long three weeks with Daddy being gone. So this was truly a gift. Yeah....little brother you look great on your new bike!

First Dayz of School

My boyz first dayz of School! They both got great teachers this year and big brother is in 3rd grade and little bro started kindergarten. WOW! So baby and I have a little quiet morning but I do miss my boyz! I have been walking them to school every morning to get them on a good routine. But now that I feel comfortable sending them without me I still want to go and make sure they get there ok. It does get me up and out in the mornings. They ride their bikes and I jog and push stroller. So much fun!

Fairy tales do come true.....

This was one of my funniest photo shoots ever! I had little baby's 6 month photo shoot done in her little Fairy Tale room. I have this amazing talented cute friend from dance class that came to our house and did a mommy & baby photo shoot. Yeah! We had so much fun and the pictures turned out incredible....really look for yourself. I had to post them all! I posted her link on my blog if you would like some memorable pics done.

Strawberry Days Baby Contest

We Won!!! Yeah! She was so cute. I put her in the Strawberry Days Baby Contest in the cutest little dance tights and tutu...and she Won! When I took her up to the judges she gave her biggest smile with her cute little dimples and that is all it took. She was so sweet. Ok and her toe nails were painted "hot pink", I am sure that helped. I feel like the proudest mommy in the whole world right now. Look for us in the parade on Saturday....I have to show her off! Check out her first trophy. Wow! My friend Rakelly's little newborn won Miss Strawberry Baby. How cute! Oh and thanks Em for making the perfect bow for her outfit...we couldn't have done it without that. Your the best! I had some unexpected guests show up for support....what a surprise! Thanks Kim and Sydney.

Children's Museum

We started our summer off by going for a field trip to the Children's Museum. So much Fun! Summer is now officially here....every Friday will be a new adventure.Yeah!

Look who's 8!

Look who is 8 years old! Wow! It has been an exciting month planning my oldest boys
8th Birthday Celebration. We had to change the baptism date a couple of times to work with daddy's work schedule but we did it. It turned out to be such a fun experience. We were able to plan a private baptism that turned out so great. It was a lot of work but worth it. We are so proud of his decision to be baptised and he is such a great example to his little brother and sister. He truly has always had such a special spirit about him and now with the Holy Ghost as a companion.... watch out! He will be a great missionary someday. We had a big celebration after with all of our family in our backyard. It was such a great day. Happy 8th Birthday!

Women of Steel Triathlon

Swim 300 meters - Bike 11 miles - Run 3 miles - Finished 2:03

Ok....so we have trained for months; swimming, biking, running, working out, getting babysitters, pushing kids in strollers, getting up early,leaving kids and family's to train for this triathlon...you get my drift. Anyways, the day before the big day I get deathly sick! Really, really, really sick. I lost 5 pounds just on Friday. Well, do or die I decided to risk it all and go anyways. Thanks to all my cute friends that pressured me into doing this in the first place, offered up the most sincere prayers for me. So with no energy, nothing in my body, I went and finished the race and live to tell about it! Wow! It truly was a miracle and I am grateful that I got to complete the race. I guess it was all in the journey of it...but had I not been able to complete the journey would have made me sad.

Appendicitis!

Our little "big" boy got sick over the weekend; throwing up, fever, ect. I had a funny feeling that it might be appendicitis because those are so commonly misdiagnosed. But the Doctor talked me out of it and said it might just be the flu. I went all weekend with a sick little boy, DJ was out of town. Finally on Monday I got another feeling that something was wrong so I took him to the Dr.'s and said this is what I think it is....mother's intuition!They sent us to the hospital for an ultra sound and as soon as they did it we went straight to the ER for an emergency appendectomy! He did so good and is such a tough little kid. Good job buddy! Really, who needs your appendix anyways!

Look who is 5!

Happy Birthday to you! All he wanted to do for his 5th birthday is take some friends to the park and ride scooters. He had a Star Wars cake and donuts. We played some games and opened presents. Big brother gave him that awesome spiderman costume! WOW! We went and had pizza for dinner and went home. What a fun birthday! Happy 5th birthday to my little boy.

Baby's Blessing Day

Today was our little baby's Blessing Day! It was so much fun planning and getting ready for this day. Daddy did such a great job on giving her a name and blessing. All of our family came after to the house to celebrate. It turned out to be great spring weather. It was such a perfect day!

Run, Run, Run....

Ok so I had these two cute friends that talked me into running the Provo's 5k this weekend. I really was NOT ready to run a 5k race but I did it anyways. I came in about 29 minutes, but my two cute friends Jenny and Emily took 2nd place in their age divisions for their 26 minute time...WOW!! It was so much fun and felt good to get out and run again. By the way it was freezing that day!

Batter Up!

We were invited to a UVU baseball game with some of our friends. The boyz had a blast! I don't think they watched much of the game...they liked rolling down the grass hill the best. It was such a fun night sitting on the grass, eating popcorn, and watching baseball. We are ready now for summer! Thanks RaKelly and Josh for the invite!

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter! Look how sharp my boyz look. Look how beautiful my little girl looks in her Easter dress. We decided to try and make it to church for Easter Sunday. Well we did it.....all by myself with my three kids! It was Aftyn's first time at church. Ok she is two months old today. Everything went great and everyone loved to see our little new addition...of course no one got to hold her. I kept her very close to me. And the best part about today was when we got home from church daddy was home from his week long work trip....Yeah!

Playing in the Poelmans' Pool

While daddy was out of town we decided to go play with some of our friends at the Poelman's indoor Pool. We haven't been out much this winter so it was nice to take Aftyn somewhere warm. We were celebrating Parker Chandler's 8th birthday. The boys had so much fun swimming and going down the slide. We will have to do it again when daddy comes back.

Our Little Princess

We finally got our little girl! Aftyn Adell was born on January 23, 2008 at 11:22 pm in the Utah Valley Hospital. She weighed 7lb 10 oz and was 19.5 in. She has been such a little angel.From the day she was born she has brought the sweetest spirit into our home. We just love her! I had these pictures taken of her when she was only 2weeks old....and look at her cute little smile! She is truly our "little princess".

Aftyn's First Photo Shoot

We had so much fun getting these pictures done. Aftyn was only two weeks old. I just had to post them all....I have the cutest kids!

My Baby Girl's Nursery

My baby girl's nursery has been a dream I have imagined for a long time now. I wanted a room that was timeless and a place of peace. My fondest memories as a little girl was this Fairy Book my Grandma Thomas used to read to me. I wanted this room to be designed around this book. I took the book and copied the pages to frame on the walls. The theme of this room then became "Fairy tales do come true..."! My sister and I took all my old baby furniture and painted it white....twice. I then started to add old antiques and most of them were my mom's things. Her baby book, doll cribs, books, clothes, ect. This room just started to come together. I had already picked out Aftyn's name and decided to have her middle name after my grandmother...Ruth Adell Thomas. This was the final touch I needed. It was then complete. Aftyn Adell Brown was born. I posted this on what would have been my grandma's 89th birhtday January 28, 2008....5 days after Aftyn's Birthday.

Baby Aftyn is here!

We finally got our little girl! She is so beautiful! We are so excited to start our new life with her. The boys are so excited and already have a nick name of "Affy Taffy" for her. So fun!!!
